After the warm-up exercise, Teng Jun, president of AWCC Tai Chi Council, spoke. She introduced the journey and work report of AWCC Tai Chi to the Mayor-Councillor guests.

“AWCC Tai Chi Alliance was founded in 2018 by Teacher Wendy Jiang Hui, the 16th Hong Kong International Martial Arts Festival all-around Martial Arts champion and the 13th generation successor of Chen’s Tai Chi. The aim of the club is to teach tai chi for the public good, with the aim of improving the health of different age groups through tai chi, especially the elderly. In the past few years, we have made amazing achievements “pay attention to the AWCC official website and the public account of AWCC Tai Chi, there are more articles to report the brilliant achievements and innovations of AWCC Tai Chi in detail.

On September 18, this year, in the 11th Jiaozuo International Taijiquan Competition held by the National Administration of Sport of China, the 70-year-old teacher Wendy broke the competition in the mixed group of youth, middle age and old age with amazing courage and strength, and won the world champion of Chen Style Taijiquan and the second place of Chen Style Taiji sword. Greatly encouraged Aodong students, age is not a problem, challenge themselves, whenever is the best.

Wang Ling

Next is the students to share, 86th birthday of coach Wang Ling speech.

She said: “As a result of endless work when she was young, she became ill from overwork, so that after retirement, her spine developed serious problems and she could not even take care of herself in daily life.”

By chance, I joined the local famous Tai Chi Group and learned boxing every day, which made me recover quickly.Six years ago, I learned that the Aotung Tai Chi Alliance was established and was absorbed as a member. In these years, under the guidance of AWCC Tai Chi President Wendy, I have been systematically taught in boxing, and my skills have been continuously improved, and my body and quality of life have been continuously improved.
I have deep experience: to participate in a Tai Chi organization with a school purpose, a teaching plan, and a teacher’s guidance, for the elderly like me, who are over 80 years old, not only do not decline according to the concept of physiological development, but increase the vitality of life and survive against age, which is a crucial factor.
I am grateful to Aotung Tai Chi Alliance! I hope the Australian government will support this kind of Tai Chi organization more, it will reduce social health expenses, it will let more people get energy from Tai chi into work!”

Alison shared her experience on behalf of the Westerner Cadet

She said: I have been a member of Awcc Tai Chi for 6 years, learning Chen style Tai Chi, with the professional guidance of teacher Wendy, participated in the second International Martial Arts Festival held by AWCC Tai Chi, which is a feat of Australia and a great event in the world, which made me unforgettable and had a different experience. Now I help the students of the Western People group to practice Tai Chi and do my best to promote tai Chi.

Coach representative and first aid volunteer Cathy shared her experience

She said: I am one of AWCC’s coaching assistants and a first aid volunteer for Tai Chi. I am also a nurse practitioner at Monash Children’s Hospital PICU.
I’ve been in Wendy’s class for six years. It was Miss Wendy who opened the door to my health. Give me a healthier lifestyle. By practicing Tai Chi, my knee problems were solved by increasing the strength of the muscles around the knee. At the same time, I met several good friends, because we have the same interest.
I am grateful to Aotung Tai Chi Alliance! I hope the Australian government will support this kind of Tai Chi organization more, it will reduce social health expenses, it will let more people get energy from Tai chi into work!”

Glen, the representative of the Western students, also spoke about his experience

My wife Linda and I started Tobu Tai Chi in March 2022. I’m a software engineer, and I spend most of my time sitting at my desk. There are a lot of different kinds of problems. Back pain, leg pain. Shoulder problems and so on.
In our Tai Chi class, with the careful guidance of Ms. Wendy and the guidance of the assistant teachers, we started from scratch and gradually followed the learning. After about 2 years of learning, we mastered some basic knowledge and met many like-minded Tai chi friends. Our health has also improved. The body is becoming more flexible and powerful. Our teachers and classmates come from all over the world and speak different languages. There are different backgrounds. Many are 50-60-70-80 years old. But everyone encourages each other.

Jianguo Wang

I joined AWCC Taiji 3 months ago. The coaches with the most serious attitude, word and example, carefully explained, patient correction, so that I corrected a lot of non-standard actions in the past, and benefited a lot.

I got attached to Tai Chi because my body had some problems before, and I had taken medicine for a long time, and the effect was not obvious. So my friend suggested I practice Tai Chi. This practice, gradually the body is better, the pain is gone, and even the impatient temperament has changed a lot. Our beloved wendy teacher is also one of the beneficiaries of Tai Chi. Now she is nearly seventy years old, still insist on practicing tai Chi, energetic, heroic, not long ago in Jiaozuo Tai Chi Competition won the world champion of all age groups, congratulations to the teacher! Teachers are our role models.

Dr. Carina Garland Chisholm by the federal member speech

First and foremost, I wish to begin by acknowledging the Traditional,Owners of the land upon which we gather—the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nation.I pay my respects to their Elders, past, present, and emerging.

As we celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival—a symbol of unity, and family bonds—we find these sentiments resonating deeply within each of us gathered here. This is a tradition where families unite, food are shared, and enjoy the beautiful scenery of the full moon.

Similarly, Australia takes immense pride in the unity and harmony that underscore our diverse multicultural landscape. The narrative of Australia is incomplete without acknowledging the invaluable contributions of the Chinese-Australian community. Your roots in this nation dig deep, dating all the way back to the gold rush era.

[Jong Chiu Kwai Le] (Happy Moon Festival)

As we revel in today’s celebration, we must seize this opportunity to reaffirm our collective commitment to inclusion, diversity, and partnership.Rest assured, our government will continue to support initiatives that empower the Chinese-Australian community, ensuring that every voice in our diverse society is heard and valued.

We stand unwavering in our pledge to cultivate connections, encourage dialogue, and create abundant opportunities for all.Together, we continue the vital work of shaping Australia into a sanctuary where each person—irrespective of their background—is welcome, respected, and integral to our community.

As we immerse ourselves in the joys of the Mid-Autumn Festival, I wish everyone to have a happy and unforgettable Mid-Autumn Festival.

The students reported their learning results to the guests

1. All students practice Chen style Taijiquan national examination section system, a single section, magnificent, neat and uniform.

2. Yunshui Tai Chi Fan, with five big red flowers blooming in the beginning, combines tai chi with stage shape. It is Teacher Wendy’s stage innovation. The students make Tai chi fan beautifully, with rigid and soft, beautiful.

4. Chen style carved sword, sword flowers shining, sonorous and powerful, light and Lingwu.

5. Wudang Taiyi Buddha Dust, one of the soft weapons in martial arts, free and graceful, flexible posture, soft with just.

AWCC Tai Chi such a lineup of performances, the Mayor and the guests were shocked and excited.

The participation of the Monash Society in the arts and arts program brought a more festive atmosphere to the event. Lunch begins with sumptuous meals and snacks made by the students themselves. The volunteer team made mooncakes by themselves a few days ago. Mooncakes are reunion, reunion and happiness.

And finally, lucky draw. Congratulations to all the lucky ones.
