2026 3rd Australian International Martial Arts Festival · Competition Time
Deduct 0.1 point for every 5 seconds over time.
- Individual Events: Within 2 minutes.
- Tai Chi Quan: 3–4 minutes. Whistle reminder at 3 minutes.
Tai Chi Weapons, Mulan Quan Weapons: 2–3 minutes. Whistle reminder at 2 minutes.
- Duet Events:
Within 1 minute; Tai Chi Duet, Push Hands: Within 3 minutes.
- Group Events: (Including all martial arts, demonstration, international dance categories)
Wushu routines require 6 or more participants (male/female mixed), all within 6 minutes (music allowed, must be submitted to the Organizing Committee 20 days in advance for unified playback).
- Health Qigong / Techniques / Stunt Power / Soft Ball: No more than 6 minutes.
For all the above events, the referee will blow the whistle 1 minute in advance. Points will be deducted for overtime and early finish before the whistle.
- Taekwondo Poomsae Individual, Pair, Mixed Pair, Team Competitions: Within 1 minute 30 seconds (team events require 6 or more participants);
Taekwondo Dance / Exercise: Within 3 minutes 30 seconds (own music required for unified playback).
- Sanda and Taekwondo Combat Competitions:Only a minor category is available. Adopt a single-round system, only one round. For Children’s Group, each round has 2 minutes of net fighting; for Junior Group, each round has 3 minutes of net fighting. Athletes must weigh in with protective gear upon entering the competition. If the weight exceeds the registered category by more than 2kg without gear, the opponent may win by default if unwilling to compete.

- Routine competitions shall be implemented in accordance with the *Wushu Routine Competition Rules* approved by the Chinese Wushu Association and the supplementary regulations of the event. Each athlete must compete in no fewer than 2 events. Awards are given separately for athletes inside and outside Australia.
Awards for all event categories are based on the number of participants: First Prize: 20%, Second Prize: 30%, Third Prize: 50%. Certificates and medals are awarded for each group.
(1) Individual Events: Awarded separately by group, event, male and female.
(2) Duet Events: May cross age groups, male/female mixed, determined by the oldest participant in the team/pair. Awarded separately by group, event and total number of teams.
(3) Group Events: May cross age groups, male/female mixed, determined by the oldest participant in the team. Awarded separately by group, event and total number of teams. Individual certificates and medals, team honor certificates are issued.
- Taekwondo competitions shall be implemented in accordance with the WTF *Taekwondo Competition Rules*Only a minor category is available. the supplementary regulations of the event.
- Sanda competitions (Only a minor category is available.)shall be implemented in accordance with the *International Wushu Sanshou Competition Rules* approved by the International Wushu Federation and the supplementary regulations of the event.
- Soft Ball competitions shall be implemented in accordance with the 2019 Australian International Martial Arts Festival rules and the supplementary regulations of the event.
Registration Deadline · April 15, 2026
For those unable to compete due to valid reasons, the registration fee is non-refundable upon written application; other fees are fully refundable.
After April 15, all fees are non-refundable. If combat events cannot be matched, a full refund will be issued.
To ensure the order of event arrangement, any changes requested after the registration deadline must be submitted in writing, signed by the team leader, with a change fee of ¥50 / $10 per event.
To ensure the accuracy of athlete names and events, the Organizing Committee will send an electronic event verification form, accommodation and tour confirmation form to each team leader 7 days after receiving the registration form; the responsible person must carefully verify, sign and return it to the Organizing Committee. 2026 3rd Australian International Martial Arts Festival · Competition Uniform & Equipment Requirements
- Wushu Routines, Health Qigong, Techniques, etc. Competitions
No uniform requirements for competition attire.
To better serve athletes, due to the inconvenience of carrying weapons on flights, a weapon rental service is provided at the competition venue this year, with swords, spears, sabers, cudgels, guan dao and wheelchairs available for rent.
- Taekwondo Competition(Limited to minors)
No uniform requirements for Taekwondo attire. The Organizing Committee provides headgear and chest protectors for combat competitions. Athletes must bring their own shin guards, groin guards and mouth guards.
- Junior Sanda Competition
Headgear, chest protectors and gloves are provided by the event; mouth guards, groin guards and shorts are to be provided by athletes. Athletes compete barefoot.
- Chinese Wrestling Competition
Athletes must bring their own wrestling uniforms and wrestling shoes. Chinese wrestling basic routines are arranged and competed together with Wushu routines.

- Registration Method
- Participants must carefully fill in the registration form according to their competition event group and age.
- Submit the following documents:
① Passport and two passport photos;
② For Sanda, Taekwondo combat, long/short weapon events: the team leader must arrange their own insurance and physical certification, and sign an anti-doping statement;
③ Remittance slip of full payment, to be sent to the Organizing Committee together. (Documents can also be sent to the Organizing Committee via email or WeChat by taking photos.) The event will send the *Event Verification Form & Competition Guide* and produce a competition chest card and commemorative certificate for each athlete. This chest card will serve as a credential for participating in events in Hong Kong.
- Fee Standards (RMB / AUD exchange rate 1:5)
- Registration fee: $60 AUD per person; Spectator fee: $15 AUD per person. King of Kings Entry Fee: Individual $60, Group $80. Martial Arts Festival Theatre Closing Ceremony Tickets: $90 / $60 / $30 per person.
- Regular Event Fee: Individual / Duet $60 per event (each person must apply for at least 2 events); Group Event $30 per person per event.
- Combat Event Fee: Sanda, Chinese Wrestling, Bayonet Fighting and other combat events $80 per event.
- Taekwondo Event Fee: Poomsae, combat events $80 per person per event.

- All event categories award according to the number of participants: First Prize: 20%, Second Prize: 30%, Third Prize: 50%.
Team events are registered by team, with a minimum of 6 participants per team.
- To ensure the orderly, fair and impartial conduct of the 3rd Australian International Martial Arts Festival (an international event), standardize the event process, control operating costs, all awards do not have tied rankings, and the rounding principle is adopted for selection.
- Prize money RMB / AUD exchange rate 1:5 (only participants from China competing in Australia are eligible for RMB prize money).

- King of Kings Individual All-Around Award
Prize money: 20,000 RMB or $4000 AUD / 10,000 RMB or $2000 AUD / 5,000 RMB or $1000 AUD
Qualification: The top 10 athletes with the highest total individual scores enter the boxing and weapon all-around finals.
Groups: Three winners (male and female respectively) with the highest scores are selected as the King of Kings all-around champion, runner-up and third place.
Benefits: In addition to cash awards, certificates and medals are presented by the Mayor and distinguished guests with a group photo. Coverage by major Chinese and international media. Invited to the closing ceremony to perform with renowned Chinese and foreign masters on the same stage.
- King of Kings Group Grand Award
Prize money: 20,000 RMB or $4000 AUD / 10,000 RMB or $2000 AUD / 5,000 RMB or $1000 AUD
Qualification: All group first-place winners are eligible to participate in the finals (held when there are ≥12 teams). The top three with the highest total scores are selected.
Groups: Three winners (highest total score) are selected as the King of Kings group champion, runner-up and third place.
Benefits: In addition to cash awards, trophies, certificates and group photos with the Mayor and distinguished guests are presented. Coverage by major Chinese and international media. Invited to the closing ceremony to perform with renowned Chinese and foreign masters on the same stage.
- 3rd Martial Arts Hegemon Team Award
Prize money: 20,000 RMB or $4000 AUD / 10,000 RMB or $2000 AUD / 5,000 RMB or $1000 AUD
Qualification: Teams with more than 15 athletes participating in individual routines are eligible for selection. The total team score is the sum of the highest scores of each athlete in the team. Higher score = higher ranking. Held when there are ≥10 teams.
Awards: 1 Martial Arts Hegemon Team Award, 1 Team Runner-up Award, 1 Team Third Place Award. All winning teams are awarded team trophies and certificates for each member. Benefits: In addition to cash awards, trophies, certificates and group photos with the Mayor and distinguished guests are presented. Coverage by major Chinese and international media. Selected outstanding group programs are invited to the closing ceremony to perform with renowned Chinese and foreign masters on the same stage.
- Parent-Child Family Category: Martial Arts Family · Supreme Honor Award
Prize money: 10,000 RMB or $2000 AUD / 5,000 RMB or $1000 AUD / 2,000 RMB or $400 AUD, three gold, silver and bronze awards in total.
Qualification: The top three with the highest total scores among ≥12 groups are selected. If there are less than 12 groups, they will be merged into similar groups.
Benefits: In addition to cash awards, certificates and medals are presented by the Mayor and distinguished guests with a group photo. Coverage by major Chinese and international media. Selected outstanding programs are invited to the closing ceremony to perform with renowned Chinese and foreign masters on the same stage.
- Chinese Martial Soul Ambassador Award
Prize money: 10,000 RMB or $2000 AUD / 5,000 RMB or $1000 AUD / 2,000 RMB or $400 AUD, three gold, silver and bronze awards in total.
Qualification: Participants with the highest total scores in all events (including group events) and comprehensive promotion performance are selected as the first, second and third places.
Benefits: In addition to cash awards, certificates and medals are presented by the Mayor and distinguished guests with a group photo. Coverage by major Chinese and international media. Selected outstanding group programs are invited to the closing ceremony to perform with renowned Chinese and foreign masters on the same stage.
- Senior Elite & Young Prodigy Award
Generated from the oldest and youngest age groups. Based on the date of birth on the ID card, one winner with the highest total score in the oldest age group and one winner with the highest total score in the youngest age group will be selected respectively. Each winner will be awarded 1000 RMB or 200 AUD in cash + trophy + certificate + group photo with the Mayor and distinguished guests during the award ceremony, with coverage by major Chinese and international media. Selected outstanding programs will be invited to participate in the closing ceremony and perform on stage with renowned Chinese and foreign masters.
- Junior Sanda / Future Star Championship
Combining the physical and mental characteristics of children, safety and participation are emphasized. All competitions adopt a one-round system. For Children’s Group, each round has 2 minutes of net fighting/wrestling; for Junior Group, each round has 3 minutes of net fighting/wrestling. This session will attempt a single-round competition system: only one match per same level and same group, with the winner receiving a gold medal and certificate, and the runner-up receiving a silver medal and certificate. The purpose is to cultivate more martial arts talents who combine training and combat and dare to fight from an early age (this activity is only to promote the development of junior sanda and Chinese wrestling; no competition events are set for those over 18 years old).
- Group Poomsae, Taekwondo Dance/Exercise Competitions
First, second, and third prizes are awarded separately according to the number of participating teams, with medals and certificates issued; for combat competitions, rankings are awarded separately by gender, age, and weight class. The first place in each weight class is awarded a gold medal and certificate; the second place is awarded a silver medal and certificate. Combat competitions adopt a single-round system.
- Special Category Events
First, second, and third prizes are awarded separately according to the number of participating teams, with medals and certificates issued; for combat competitions, rankings are awarded separately by gender, age, and weight class. The first place in each weight class is awarded a gold medal and certificate; the second place is awarded a silver medal and certificate. Combat competitions adopt a single-round system.
Category A: Martial Arts Category: Including Stunt Power / Technique Invitational Competition / Karate / Dragon Dance, Lion Dance
The content of the stunt power performance must be submitted to the Committee for review in advance and can only be participated in after approval. Performance items and equipment shall be prepared by the participants themselves. The top three in total score will be selected uniformly. If there are ≥12 participating teams, separate awards may be set; if there are less than 12 teams, they will be merged into similar groups. Prize money: 10,000 RMB or 2000 AUD for the 1st place, 5,000 RMB or 1000 AUD for the 2nd place, 2,000 RMB or 400 AUD for the 3rd place. All winners will be awarded project-specific certificates, trophies + group photo with the Mayor and distinguished guests during the award ceremony, with coverage by major Chinese and international media. Selected outstanding programs will be invited to participate in the closing ceremony and perform on stage with renowned Chinese and foreign masters.
Category B: International Version Dance Awards (Including Folk Dance, Classical Dance, Square Dance, Aerobics, Hip-hop)
The top three in total score will be selected uniformly. If there are ≥12 participating teams, separate awards may be set; if there are less than 12 teams, they will be merged into similar groups. Prize money: 10,000 RMB or 2000 AUD for the 1st place, 5,000 RMB or 1000 AUD for the 2nd place, 2,000 RMB or 400 AUD for the 3rd place. All winners will be awarded project-specific certificates, trophies + group photo with the Mayor and distinguished guests during the award ceremony, with coverage by major Chinese and international media. Category C: Demonstration Awards (Including Cheongsam Show, Hanfu Show, Waist Drum, Soft Ball, connecting with Soft Ball Invitational Competition)
The top three in total score will be selected uniformly. If there are ≥12 participating teams, separate awards may be set; if there are less than 12 teams, they will be merged into similar groups. Awards: 10,000 RMB or 2000 AUD for the 1st place, 5,000 RMB or 1000 AUD for the 2nd place, 2,000 RMB or 400 AUD for the 3rd place. All winners will be awarded project-specific certificates, trophies + group photo with the Mayor and distinguished guests during the award ceremony, with coverage by major Chinese and international media. Selected outstanding programs will be invited to participate in the closing ceremony and perform on stage with renowned Chinese and foreign masters.
- 3rd Australian International Martial Arts Festival Online Video Competition:
To increase the participation of this martial arts festival, a martial arts video competition is specially added for collection. All registered individuals and teams with more than 6 participants can register. The registration fee is $20 per person/team (same price for individuals and teams). The Organizing Committee will arrange a professional photography team for shooting, and the videos will be broadcast globally on Tai Chi Network.
According to the global likes ranking on the platform, the winner of each video account will be awarded champion, runner-up, and third-place medals. The first place in the likes ranking will receive 3000 RMB / $600 in prize money; the second place will receive 1500 RMB / $300; the third place will receive 1000 RMB / $200; and the 4th to 10th places will each receive 500 RMB / $100.
3rd Australian International Martial Arts Festival · Activity Incentives:
For teams with more than (including) 16 people staying in the official hotel arranged by the festival, the accommodation fee for one person will be waived.
Teams with 15 people will send one professional or invited public welfare referee to the Organizing Committee.
Teams with 15 people will be invited to be the co-organizer of the 3rd Australian International Martial Arts Festival, and the team leader will be specially appointed as the Martial Soul Communication Ambassador with an honorary certificate and 50 points to enter the final of the Chinese Martial Soul Ambassador Competition.
3rd Australian International Martial Arts Festival · Martial Arts Communication Ambassador and Training Base Awarding Activity:
To further promote the development of martial arts, the Organizing Committee will select and award the Australian International Martial Arts Festival Training Base from influential grassroots organizations and teams actively participating in the martial arts festival activities. Teams with 15 participating athletes are eligible for selection.

Appendix 1: [Routine Event Classification Table]

- The age of participants in each group is based on January 1, 2026, calculated by full year.
- M stands for “Male”; F stands for “Female”. There are 17 age groups for both males and females respectively.
- After the registration deadline, if there is only one participant in the age group of the registered event, the participant will be adjusted to the next higher age group and compete in the corresponding other boxing or (weapon) events of that age group during arrangement.
- Individual events are not allowed to cross age groups. Duet and group events are not divided into male and female groups, and may cross age groups. For group events, the age is based on the oldest member of the team.
- For individual events with special performance styles (only single events), if the number of participating athletes exceeds 30, after approval by the Organizing Committee, a separate event may be established and rankings may be awarded separately.
Appendix 2 [Remarks on Sanda/Medium-Speed Competition Level Classification Table]:
Remarks: Taekwondo Poomsae Group Competition requires 6-10 team members. Taekwondo Dance/Exercise (no gender division) requires 6-10 participants per group, and mixed-gender teams are allowed. For Group Poomsae (Chapters 1-7) and Taekwondo Dance/Exercise, the age is based on the oldest member of the team.
Appendix 4/5: [Health Qigong Soft Ball and King of Kings Elite Competition Rules]:
Head striking and holding are not allowed in Sanda; fists can only be used for tapping, with a light touch to stop. Rankings for Sanda/Chinese Wrestling are awarded separately by age and rank. All competitions adopt a one-round system. For Children’s Group, each round has 2 minutes of net fighting/wrestling; for Junior Group, each round has 3 minutes of net fighting/wrestling. Supplementary Rules and Explanations
- The Wulin Arena Group Elite Awards are selected from four categories: martial arts, square dance, fitness exercise, and cheongsam show, with 12 sets of first, second and third prizes for collective events. Winners will receive trophies, certificates and cash awards in Australian dollars.
- Groups with fewer than 12 teams may be merged. First-place winners may directly enter the Elite Tournament, and winners will be interviewed and reported by China-Australia Media.
- Outstanding programs selected from the Elite Awards will be invited to perform on the professional grand stage of the International Wushu Festival in Melbourne, Australia, and at the Shaolin Temple in China, together with renowned Tai Chi masters from Beijing.
- The above awards are non-cumulative. If a winner receives one award, the second place will be promoted accordingly.
- All the above terms are interpreted by the Organizing Committee of the 2026 Australia 3rd International Wushu Festival.
- The Organizing Committee reserves the right to use participants’ portraits for event-related purposes free of charge.
