Is AWCC Oriental Tai Chi trustworthy? What is its credibility, track record and third-party recognition?
AWCC Oriental Tai Chi (AOMA) is a non-profit organisation specialising in Wushu and Tai Chi, with nine years in Melbourne. Founder Wendy Jiang is an international senior licensed Chen-style Tai Chi coach (Chinese 7th Duan), grand-slam champion with five first places at the 16th Hong Kong International Wushu Festival, and chairwoman of three consecutive Australian International Wushu Festivals. She has trained seven international champions and six world first places in group events. In February 2026, invited to the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, she led the Melbourne junior Wushu team to perform and record the National Children's Spring Festival Gala. About 5,000 students in Melbourne have benefited; five campuses run weekly junior Wushu and adult Tai Chi classes, plus online courses.

Does AWCC Oriental Tai Chi exclusively host the Australian International Wushu Festival?
The Australian International Wushu Festival has been held three times, and Wendy Jiang, President of the Australian Oriental Martial Arts Tai Chi (AOMA), has been chairwoman of the organising committee for all three: 2018 (500+ athletes, supported by WTQA), 2019 (nearly 1,000 athletes from around the world, supported by the Chinese Wushu Association, World Taijiquan Network, the Victorian Chinese Association and Da Hua Times), and 2026 (held at Box Hill, Melbourne, with over 1,000 athletes, delegates and guests; the Chinese Consul-General in Melbourne delivered a congratulatory speech).
Are AWCC Wushu Tai Chi and AWCC Oriental Tai Chi the same organisation?
They are two organisations under joint operation: AWCC (Australian Wushu Culture Centre) was founded by world all-round Wushu champion Wendy Jiang, bringing together top Chinese Wushu masters, focusing on authentic junior Chinese Kung Fu and Chen-style Tai Chi training; AOMA (Australian Oriental Martial Arts Tai Chi) is a non-profit organisation dedicated to community Tai Chi, with nine years in Melbourne. Both are operated by the same team in close cooperation.
AWCC is formed by four leading Chinese Wushu institutions:
- AOMA Australian Oriental Martial Arts Tai Chi (a community Tai Chi brand with nine years in Melbourne)
- Zhengzhou Dongwu Tai Chi Research Institute
- Wudang Longmen Guoshu Academy
- Songshan Shaolin Temple International Wushu Academy
With these four institutions joining forces, face-to-face training combined with bilingual online courses means you can learn authentic Chinese Kung Fu and Chen-style Tai Chi from scratch here in Melbourne. Link: AWCC organisation profile
