By 2019, the “giant baby steps” of East Wu’s first advanced class had naturally transformed into the graceful emergence of vibrant butterflies. These first graduates of East Wu’s “Whampoa Military Academy” had, quite naturally, evolved into the elite force of the East Wu Tai Chi Alliance.

The title of “elite” was by no means self-proclaimed. On the morning of October 26, 2019, representatives of the 2nd Advanced Class Elite Team were specially invited by the organizing committee of the World Tai Chi Culture Festival to travel thousands of miles and participate in the opening ceremony and induction of renowned global Tai Chi masters. Alongside world champions and Tai Chi legends, they had the honor of walking the red carpet.

The Chairman of the World Tai Chi Culture Festival Organizing Committee and Editor-in-Chief of World Tai Chi Network, Mr. Yu Gongbao, personally received them and posed for commemorative photos with the East Wu elite class representatives.

One minute on stage represents ten years of hard work off stage!
The signature routines of the Elite Advanced Class also earned them the First Prize at the 2nd International Martial Arts Festival of Australia.

The 49-Form Solo Straight Sword Routine, a traditional sword technique personally passed down by Sword Master Xu Qinlan, has likewise stood the test of time and continues to be highly acclaimed.

The Elite Class Performance and Competition Team’s Cloud-and-Water Tai Chi Fan routine lived up to its reputation, standing out among tens of thousands of participants and teams worldwide to win first place.

The photo shows the Elite Team demonstrating the Cloud-and-Water Tai Chi Fan at the closing ceremony of the Sanya Nanshan Cultural Festival, performing before an audience of ten thousand Tai Chi practitioners and enthusiasts.

The pursuit of knowledge is boundless, and the path of art has no end.

Just after performing at the closing ceremony, the elite class representatives—still holding their first-place certificates and trophies—bade farewell to Nanshan in Sanya, Hainan at the break of dawn the next day.

Weary yet determined, they boarded an early morning flight and made their way to the world-renowned Wudang Mountain, embarking on the next stage of their Tai Chi journey to further their studies and refine their skills.

Today, the East Wu Elite Team stands at the forefront of international competitions and performances, taking on the vital role of leading the entire group with strength and skill—like commanders charging at the frontlines.

But the contributions of the East Wu Elite Team go far beyond martial arts. Every member of this team is not only highly skilled but also virtuous and selfless, setting an example through their dedication and compassion. These respected leaders are the true role models of the community.

Their outstanding moral character and contributions have been officially recognized: the Deputy Consul General of China in Melbourne, the Mayor of Melbourne, local government officials, and Members of Parliament in Victoria have all presented the Elite Team with special commendation certificates in honor of their service and spirit.
